St Denys is a welcoming church in the Evangelical tradition, standing at the heart of Stanford in the Vale. St Denys is one of three worshipping centres in the Parish of Stanford in the Vale with Goosey & Hatford, within the Diocese of Oxford in the Church of England.
We attract people from a variety of different Christian backgrounds and seek to make everybody welcome, whether you already count yourself as a Christian, or are just looking. We offer a range of services from Evensong to a weekly service for young families.
You are very welcome to join us at any of our services. On this site you should find everything you need to know about us. If you want to speak to us further about anything, then please see details on Who's Who page.
Our usual pattern of services is
a 10:15am Holy Communion service each Sunday at St Denys
Denys@4 interactive service for young families at 4pm each Sunday at St Denys
Evensong twice a month at 6pm alternating between All Saints, Goosey and St George's Hatford. See the Parish Newsletter and website calendar
Village Compassion Fund
During this Cost Of Living Crisis season, the church has asked for donations from villagers to help individuals and families in urgent need. The VCF is a small grant-making fund and does not cover general cash flow situations, but seeks to make a difference towards a specific, urgent need.
Applicant must live in the parish of Stanford with Goosey & Hatford.
Please print off and complete this application form if you wish the Trustees (the Vicar and churchwarden) to consider your application.
The Vicar, the Headteacher of Stanford CofE Primary School, and the Manager of the Stanford Pre-School can now refer people to the Faringdon Food Bank for up to 6 lots of emergency food supplies.
If you would like to donate to the Village Compassion Fund, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
If you would like a receipt, or are a Tax Payer and wish us to reclaim Gift Aid, please email email@example.com so a receipt/Gift Aid Form can be emailed to you.
Thank you very much.
Some older Sunday Sermons are recorded and are available on the St Denys Church YouTube channel (you don't need to login to access this), and the St Denys Church Facebook Pages.
